I’m going to ask you all for a favor. I’ve blogged more or less faithfully since I was diagnosed with cancer last November. The effects of the chemo treatments I’ve received are cumulative, and they’re catching up to me.
I’ve found that “chemo brain” is a real thing. It makes it difficult for me to focus and find the right words, whether it be conversation or writing. It’s frustrating, to be sure, but it has also created a real empathy for those who are challenged in that way by any sort of medical condition.
I have one more of the rough chemo treatments, and then I’ll get a month or so off to recover and recoup. I hope you’ll understand that I need to take a break from blogging until that time. I’ll be back in a couple of months, hopefully with more whimsy and insight and less searching for words.
I can’t thank all of you for the expressions of support and love-it’s been completely overwhelming. Know that I’m hanging in there, fighting for all I’m worth, and confident that the treatments are doing their job.
Thank you so much for understanding, and see you soon!
